Officially they are good for 3 days, but I've been getting 9-12 days out of each one.

It tracks my blood sugar fairly well most of the time. Of course last Sunday it decided to tell me it was 250, when it was a lot longer and I ended up at 40 with 5 units of insulin on board (gasp). But that's unusual.

Software paints pretty pictures but is not very informative.

And it's another thing to carry around and is larger than your pump.

But despite all this I'm finding it very useful and won't give it up until something better comes along.Bernardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14936264471078732019noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8434974132017943694.post-23429051531723360742007-07-03T07:13:00.000-05:002007-07-03T07:13:00.000-05:00I'm really thinking of doing this myself. The benefits seem great, but I'm having a really hard time convincing myself to pour over $1k into something with a 6 month warranty.Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13564731989568599206noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8434974132017943694.post-69045097715242549922007-07-02T19:06:00.000-05:002007-07-02T19:06:00.000-05:00I don't know where to start!I am using the Minimed...I don't know where to start!

I am using the Minimed model, but mostly because it was the only one available in Canada when I was shopping!!

First, you are lucky to have your insurance company's support! Mine supports my pump 100%, but nothing towards the transmitter and sensors!

I have found I sleep better, and do not worry about my BG level. The sensor will alarm for me when I am out of range! I used to creep up to 10, 11...12 (mmol/L) and not even feel it, until I was 15 or so...so the sensor is helping me keep in my target area!

The Minilink is small, and I forget it is there. That is a bonus...and rechargeable!

-What don't I like? It is a second item attached to my body, but it is small and I don't mind.
-My insurance does not cover the sensors...
-calibration is no problem, but took a few sensors to get a hang of it!Dreahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17936665366295488012noreply@blogger.com
